Baby Shoes

After spending the better part of the weekend putting Sky's shoes onto baby (her doll), we went and purchased new doll-sized shoes at Target this morning. Of course, they only came packaged with a new outfit, so baby has new clothes now too. Probably not a bad thing as the old outfit was getting pretty dirty. Everytime Clif would put the shoes on baby Sky would walk away then we would here "uh-o" and she'd be back holding the shoes and baby. Sunday morning she put on her fur coat and placed baby in the doll stroller and pushed her around our condo at Bald Head. She was a sight pushing the stroller with one hand and eating a bagel with the other. I think she belongs in New York. As it is February at Bald Head - no one was around to see her. Otherwise she kept busy giving baby her bottle and playing with some hot wheels cars. Her other main baby activity is wrapping baby up in a blanket, putting her in a chair and sitting on her! Then she picks baby up and puts her in bed. Parker certainly never did this!
We had a very quiet weekend with lots of reading and conversation. Parker enjoys reading and is very amused by Calvin & Hobbes, Baby Blues and Get Fuzzy. Saturday, Parker and Clif went on a walk on the golf course and found 39 used golf balls at the edge of a lagoon! Guess who washed them? Parker and Clif also looked at the constellations one night. It is so dark on the island the stars are very visible.

Tub Time

Hobbes is supervising Sky's bath! Yes she is clean! However, we are having a problem with the front of her hair - she seems to be developing a dreadlock. Time for bangs?
What a long week! Sky did a backward aerial somersault down the stairs on Monday night - miraculously she wound up facing forward on the bottom step. She had only a cut lip with some blood. Needless to say increased security measures are in force at the bottom of the stairs! On Tuesday Parker developed the flu? - 2 days of unexplained fever/headache. He is back to normal now after 3 days of reading, rest and Nintendo. Karen & Clif are also sniffing along.

GOOD NEWS!
Clif and Roger got our new grill assembled last weekend and we have been enjoying cooking outside! Parker declared the grilled salmon the best ever.

Parker now reads faster than Clif. We discovered this when Clif was trying to read Ragweed by Avi over his shoulder and Parker kept flipping the pages. Karen hasn't taken the Parker reading challenge yet.

The readers of Encore (a local weekly magazine) named Wrightsville Beach Pet Hospital one of the best in Wilmington!

Introducing Tahi

Clif helped Roger & Carolyn pick out a new shepherd puppy, Tahi on Friday. Tahi is 8 weeks old. Her name means sea in polynesian.

The Queen!

Sky loves her Hello Kitty Purse. She insists on taking it when she gets out the car. Inside she has a toy phone, a wooden piece of cheese, a helicopter a small Pooh book and sometimes a pacifier. She reminds me of the Queen of England.

King of Mardi Gras

The King Lives... the King of Mardi Gras that is. Actually, he lives in our house. Parker lucked out and bit into the piece of cake at his class Mardi Gras party that contained the "baby". This made him the boy King of Mardi Gras (at least for Friends School of Wilmington). Then the next day the "Catholic" came in and talked to their class about Lent.

Rocking Baby

Sky carries her baby around the house. Here she is pausing a few moments to rock baby in the recliner. Baby was a gift from Aunt Betsey when we visited Denver last year. Can you believe Sky is already 18 months?

Balancing Act

Our New Blog

I've been using Picasa to process my pics on the PC and it is easy to upload them to a Blog. I thought I would try this for awhile and see if it was a good way to share our events + keep a sort of family diary. Parker will still keep his web page. We hope you enjoy.
